MCPI Does Europe 2006 !

.
MCPI Members have been proudly showing their Maine Coon Polydactys in show rings around the world.  Whether it is in New Traits, Exhibitions or House Hold Pets, the cats are getting out there and people are listening.  The response is positive, the publicity great and it seems that the time has come for these wonderful cats to start being recognized for what they are... Maine Coons!

The Dutch TICA Club, Cats and Tulips was the first show we attended.  This was in the lovely town of Woerden, The Netherlands, August 26 - 27, 2006.  For some of us this was our first time seeing the European benching with the cats and it was a pleasant change.  It was also an opportunity to see old friends again and meet new ones!  The show got started and the final touches were put on the cats before they went into the ring.  New Traits class had other breeds present and our polys had great competition.

These are the New Traits results:
Judges:  Bobbie Tullo (AB), Francesca Gagern (AB), Allen Walburn (AB), Mary Lisse de Landstheer (AB)
Edith Mary Smith (AB) and Female Congress

The surprise for most was the arrival of Gordon from the USA.  We had a little fun and tried to keep his arrival a secret until Hannover.  I think our roving reporter show report may have given that away :)
The surprise for Gordon was the Birthday cake in honour of his 75th Birthday!

But I think Gordon was kept very busy clerking...oh and look...it's Silversocks P in the ring!

It was two days full of cats and friends, laughter and congratulations, train rides and car rides and a great promotion for the Maine Coon Polydactyls.

From Left to Right:  Michel, Miriam, Sandra, Vonne, Deb, Gordon and Justin.  This picture was taken at the end of the day.  Sharon and Yolanda were both present at the show also.  My apologies for not getting everyone in the picture.

It was a wonderful show.  Sandra, Patrick  and the Cats and Tulips Club did a fantastic job!!  There will be more pictures to follow soon.
